Meet Camilla mum to Tabitha and Estella

What is the Best Advice you have Received on Parenting?

Mindfulness, take one day at a time! I remember both times I was in the first few weeks after having my daughters and I can honestly say for me, they were the hardest. You are always going to have good and bad days. The lack of sleep gets better usually. Always be in the moment. If you are having fun at that moment at a party or playing with your children, stop worrying about your lack of sleep that night.

What Are Your Kids’ Favourite Food?

Totally different to each other, Tabitha is 4 and thinks Sausage and chips is a treat,,she also loves any meat, steak with Daddy once a week etc. Estella is 16 months and is a pescatarian like me. This is very much her choice as I offer her meat all the time. She eats every fruit like a little fruit bat and tofu ands fish fingers are her fave meal time proteins.

What is Your Favourite Meal to Cook For the Family?

I cook tofu, rice noodles and Kale once a week and the girls love it sooooo much, it takes me 5 minutes, so no excuses for not eating healthy. I also make my own fish and chips and they enjoy this more that shop bought. I have found it hard trying to make meals that we all enjoy as Andy( Daddy) is a big meat eater. I never thought is become that Mum that cooks different dinners for different members of the family but sometimes I do.

What Are the Kids’ Favourite Toys?

Estella is in that stage of Anything that’s not a toy is more interesting, especially If I leave my hand bag open, oh dear.

Tabitha only started school in September so her brain is like a sponge at the moment, her favourite toys seem to be associated with learning quite often. Even if she is putting dolls in to piles, she’s counting them. She also is creative and is drawing or beading, My family are quite creative and I think she has inherited the gene.

What are the three top items that you always have in your bag when out with your kids?

Wet wipes, food, drinks, simples.

One word to describe labour?

I know some Mums are naturals but this was the hardest part of having babies for me, I found labour both times for different reason very hard. I had a few complications, large babies, both 9.3ib.

What have you found to be the hardest part of your motherhood journey?

Again, labour and lack of sleep. I think it’s also easy to lose your identity of who you were before but to be honest when you’re  a Mum, you’re a different person so you may as well get used to it.

What is the best part of motherhood?

Watching these special little people changing every day. Watching them grow, watching them learn. Getting those big smiles when you walk in the door. Cuddles and unconditional love is pretty amazing too.
