Mums that rock – This is Mothership – London
Meet inspiring mamas Gem & Sam from this is Mothership.
what is the best advice you have been given on parenting? To trust your gut instinct
what is your favourite meal to cook for the family? We are both very lazy when it comes to cooking and pasta is always our fail safe when there is nothing in the house. Deliveroo is our most used app!
what three items do you always have in your bag when out with your kids? Snacks, snacks and more snacks. Both our kids are both much happier when they are eating, snacks solve all problems!
what have you found to be the hardest part of your motherhood journey? Sam struggled at the beginning as Leo wasn’t interested in sleeping. Gemma had a hard time breastfeeding for almost a month but was determined not to give up so suffered quite a bit before it suddenly became manageable.
Advice for overcoming serious challenges that life throws at you? Calm is a super power is a motto we both live by these days. If you just take a step back & take a deep breath it will make you feel much better. Freaking out won’t help anyone.
What makes you feel healthy and strong A clear mind. Which tends to happen hen our work is done, our houses are tidy and our kids are tucked up snoring in bed.
What is the best part of motherhood? Seeing their little smiling faces when they spot you coming into the room to collect them at nursery is so rewarding and will always make us smile.
