Mothers that Rock by Oreke xx

Mums that rock – we think supermodel Gisele rocks. I am one of those mums that struggle to put any of my needs before my kids, I literally live for them and love every minute of it but even though I understand the importance of me time, I feel guilty when I am not with the boys. Lately I am beginning to understand the importance of not feeling guilty and enjoying my me time. A quote from Bundchen from the Sunday times “You know how they say on the plane you have to put the oxygen mask on first and then put it on your child, I think it is the same, as a mum, to take care of myself.””You can feel a bit guilty,” she said. “But if I put my oxygen mask on first, if I’m feeling fulfilled and present and good about myself, then I’m going to be a much more patient, loving, understanding mother and wife. You have to fill your glass so that everyone can drink from it. That’s how I feel.” Well said Bundchen. It may not be easy to do without a squad of nannies and personal chefs but we must try and take small guilty free steps whilst knowing that we are great mothers and patting ourselves on the back for doing our best. Until next time xx

My best friend single mom of two with amazing superwoman strength and endless love. Mom to Jayden and Liyah. Wish I had half her courage. xx

Motherhood Philosophy: children are a blessing from God. Caring for them and seeing them grow I feel is Gods way of telling mothers and fathers that He loves us even more than we can ever love our children. Children are the best gift.
